This year we are searching for a permanent home for The Food Initiative.
We need to think about everything from energy conservation to waste and water management when we select a restaurant site. We will be very cautious about any materials and equipment that we use to develop the site so that we minimise our impact.
As a pilot for The Food Initiative ethos, we launched an amazing mobile food project called STREET KITCHEN (www.streetkitchen.co.uk). We served restaurant quality dishes using 100% UK sustainable produce from a mobile van in Covent Garden Piazza and Old Spitalfields Market during the London Restaurant Festival. The project was such a huge success and so well received that we have decided to launch a second phase of Street Kitchen. Please see the website for details.
